Ring in the Holiday Season at the Orlando Philharmonic's Holiday Pops Concerts

(Orlando, FL – October 29, 2007) - The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to celebrate the spirit of the holiday season at their annual Holiday Pops concerts!  Three concerts will take place in Central Florida.

The first is held on Sunday, November 25, at 4:00 PM in Winter Park’s charming Central Park. This concert is made possible by the Charlotte Julia Hollander Trust and is free and open to the public.

The second is held on Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 PM at Polk Community College in Winter Haven.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.  To purchase tickets, phone: 863-293-5214.

The third is held on Saturday, December 8 at Central Winds Park in Winter Springs.  This concert is free and open to the public. Musicians from the orchestra will hold Instrument Petting Zoos for children from 4:30 - 5:30 PM.  The concert is at 6:00 PM.

The Orlando Philharmonic’s annual Holiday Pops Concerts have become a tradition in Central Florida.  Maestro Andrew Lane leads the Philharmonic in a variety of beloved holiday favorites, and vocalist Michelle Amato takes the stage to perform a number of holiday tunes with the orchestra. You may even want to sing along!  Enjoy music that will warm your heart, including Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, White Christmas, Carol of the Bells and many more!  At the outdoor concerts (Winter Park and Winter Springs), guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, a picnic and the whole family to help get your holiday season started off right.

Amato, a popular singer who is active both in live performances and in the recording studio, performs regularly at the Van Dyke Café on South Beach and The Westin Grand Bohemian Hotel in Orlando, as well as numerous music festivals.  She has been a featured soloist with the Memphis Symphony, the South Florida Pops, the Florida West Coast Symphony, and the All-American College Orchestra at Epcot Center.

Audiences of all ages will be sure to capture the holiday spirit at the Orlando Philharmonic’s holiday pops concert!
