(Orlando, FL – October 25, 2007) – The Orlando Philharmonic is proud to announce a partnership with AirTran Airways, establishing this popular airline as the official airline of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. As part of the partnership, AirTran Airways, which is headquartered in Orlando, will assist the orchestra with transporting guest artists and conductors to and from Orlando throughout the season. AirTran Airways is also the sponsor of two of the Philharmonic’s Phil at Carr Series concerts, Symphonic Sorcery, held on November 3, and Radio Days, held on January 19.
“When AirTran Airways was given the opportunity to be the Official Airline of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, it was music to our ears,” said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. “The Philharmonic provides a valuable cultural service to the Orlando community, and we are proud to help keep them flying high.”
David Schillhammer, Executive Director of the Orlando Philharmonic, is equally enthused about the partnership. “The Orlando Philharmonic is proud to welcome AirTran Airways as our official airline for the 2007-08 season. With AirTran's increasingly strong presence in the Orlando area, this partnership seems a natural. We applaud the support of AirTran Airways and are grateful for their contribution to our wonderful orchestra,” he says.
AirTran Airways, one of the nation’s leading low-fare carriers, works proactively to support community organizations in each of the 55 destinations it serves. The airline is committed to each of these communities and is pleased to give back to the communities it serves. In addition, many of the nearly 9,000 Crew Members employed at AirTran Airways volunteer their time and efforts at various community events throughout Orlando, Atlanta (the airline’s hub) and throughout the country.
