6th Annual Sunset & Symphony Fall Concert
A Musical Salute to America
November 10 at 6 p.m.
Historic Bok Sanctuary

(Orlando, FL – October 9, 2007) – Enjoy "A Musical Salute to America" during Historic Bok Sanctuary's sixth annual Sunset & Symphony concert November 10 at 6 p.m., at the historic Bok Sanctuary in Lake Wales. The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Singing Tower carillon will perform pops, light classics and patriotic favorites you know and love. Pack a picnic or preorder a boxed dinner from a menu of salads, sandwiches and wraps and bring your friends and family to experience a breathtaking sunset and magical starry night on peninsular Florida's highest point. Tickets are $12 for members and $15 for the general public. The day of concert tickets are $20 and children under 5 are free. Call (863) 734-1222 for tickets and more information.

Sponsored by AT&T Real Yellow Pages, Central Florida Eurocars, Citizens Bank & Trust, Florida Refuse, Lake Wales Medical Center and The Ledger, Sunset & Symphony is a highlight of the fall cultural calendar. Flambeaux will illuminate the Olmsted-designed pathways leading up to the 205-foot-tall Singing Tower that houses one of the world's great carillons.

Musical selections will include the National Anthem, Stars and Strips Forever, a salute to the U.S. Armed Forces and God Bless America with vocalist David Chernault. The music of American composers Aaron Copeland, George Gershwin, Glenn Miller, Richard Rodgers and others will be performed by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Andrew Lane. Sanctuary carillonneur William De Turk will perform Autumn Leaves and When You Wish Upon a Star from Pinocchio.

Event gates open at 3:30 p.m. The Instrument Petting Zoo will begin at 4:30 p.m. Located on the Garden Activities Center lawn, this family musical workshop will feature Orlando Philharmonic musicians demonstrating a variety of musical instruments.

The popular picnic contest will award prizes for Most Elegant, Most Original and Best Fall. Winners will be announced during intermission. Visitors also can enter a drawing for a tour of the Singing Tower, a one-night stay at Pinewood Estate or a $100 gift certificate from the Tower & Garden Gift Shop. Tickets will be available at the Information Tent near the concert seating area.

Preordered boxed picnic selections are available from the Carillon Cafe for $9.50 plus tax and can be picked up November 10 at the Carillon Cafe until 5:45 p.m. Call (863) 676-1355 for advance orders. Jambalaya, hot dogs, snacks and beverages will be available for sale at the Hilltop Cafe from 3:30 to 8:00 p.m. Beer and wine will be available through the intermission. Place your order by November 7 to receive a free 11" x 17" poster featuring the majestic Singing Tower. The Gift Shop and Visitor Center will remain open until after the concert.
