(Orlando, FL – June 25, 2007) - The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce Carol D. Conner as its new Board President and Candice J. Crawford as Vice President and President Elect. Conner and Crawford begin their terms on July 1, 2007. Conner replaces John Casebier, President of First Commercial Bank of Florida, Winter Park, who served as the Philharmonic’s Board President for three years.
Carol Conner is an Executive Vice President and Corporate Director of MSCW, a collaborative professional services team that provides community planning, civil engineering, landscape architecture, environmental services, transportation planning and engineering, and economics services. With 25 years of civil engineering experience in Central Florida, Carol serves as the Principal-in-Charge of the firm’s Transportation Planning and Engineering Team.
Carol is the Vice-President/President Elect of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s Board of Directors and also serves on the Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation (ONIC) Board of Directors and the Deans Executive Advisory Board for the University of Central Florida College of Engineering and Computer Science. She Chairs the State K-12 Education Task Force for the Florida Engineering Society; and she is a Lay Leader and serves on the Ministries Council at First United Methodist Church of Orlando.
Conner attended the University of Florida, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Candice Crawford is President of CJ Crawford, LLC, a consulting and real estate investments firm. She served as Assistant Secretary of the State of Florida from 2003 to 2005, and prior to that was City Clerk of the City of Orlando and Deputy Secretary of both the Florida Department of Highway Safety and the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.
Ms. Crawford has been a member of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Directors since 2005, serving on the organization’s Development and Marketing Committees. She is also a member of the University of Central Florida Alumni Association, The Florida State University Seminole Boosters and the Friends of Museum of Florida History.
Ms. Crawford attended the University of Central Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. She has two children and six grandchildren.
