The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Presents:
(Orlando, FL – February 28, 2007) - The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra proudly presents The Springs Concert 2007: From Sea to Shining Sea, an outdoor concert featuring the Orlando Philharmonic performing on a stage built right on the beautiful body of water known as Sanlando Springs. The concert is held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at The Springs Community, 400 Woodbridge Road, Longwood. Gates open at 5:00 PM. The concert begins at 8:00 PM. The Orlando Philharmonic is delighted to continue this concert tradition, which has become the orchestra’s most popular concert of the year and a social event not to be missed. At last year’s concert at The Springs, both lawn seating and the VIP area sold out, making it clear to the Orlando Philharmonic that this is an event that the community has embraced.
From Sea to Shining Sea features Philharmonic Principal Pops and Resident Conductor Andrew Lane and the Orlando Philharmonic with special guests singer and bandleader Michael Andrew and the fabulous Liberty Singers in a program of music that celebrates America – from sea to shining sea! Michael Andrew puts his sophisticated musical style to favorites like “Chicago,” “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” and “New York, New York,” as we travel across this great land of ours through song. The Liberty Singers infuse their perfect blending of harmony in this salute to America with such great tunes as “Georgia On My Mind,” “This Land Is Your Land,” and “This Is My Country.” The Philharmonic rounds out the journey, displaying American pride with such pieces as “I’m Proud To Be An American” and “God Bless America.”
There’s no passport required for a great time - just pack a picnic basket with your favorite food and beverages, grab a blanket or low lawn chair and sit back and enjoy a warm spring evening under the stars, filled with beautiful music and good friends! Alcoholic beverages are permitted for patrons 21 and older. Lawn seating is on a first come first served basis.
Tickets to The Springs Concert 2007: From Sea to Shining Sea are presently on sale. Advance tickets are $30 and can be purchased through the Philharmonic’s Box Office at 407-770-0071, on the Philharmonic’s web site at www.orlandophil.org, and, beginning on March 19, at the Springs Business Office at 400 Woodbridge Road, Longwood (by phone, 407-862-3881) and at Petty’s Meats and Specialty Foods, 2141 W. SR 434, Longwood. Tickets can be purchased at the door beginning at 5:00 PM the day of the performance. There are no senior, children or student discounts. All tickets purchased on the day of the performance are $35.
The Friends of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra sponsor a VIP Clubhouse, complete with complimentary food, beer and wine provided by Meiner’s Catering. A dinner buffet will be served from 6:00 to 8:00 PM inside the clubhouse, with dinner seating available at tables under the trees. VIP concert seating is located on the lawn in front of the Spring. Chairs are provided for VIP patrons. VIP patrons also receive preferred parking. VIP tickets are $100, and can be purchased at the same locations as general admission tickets.
