Orlando, FL – April 20, 2006 - The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra invites you to enjoy an evening of music under the stars at its Spring Pops Concert on Sunday, April 30, 7:00 PM in Winter Park’s charming Central Park. This concert is made possible by the Charlotte Julia Hollander Trust and is free and open to the public.
Pack a picnic and a blanket and enjoy an evening of great music with friends and family as Maestro Andrew Lane and the Philharmonic perform a program designed to delight audiences of all ages. You may even want to sing along! Included on the program are a Salute to Richard Rodgers, Duke Ellington Fantasy, Strike Up the Band, and music from West Side Story. Vocalist Michelle Amato joins the orchestra to perform Gershwin’s Summertime and S’Wonderful, in addition to All That Jazz from the Broadway hit, Chicago. Amato, a popular singer who is active both in live performances and in the recording studio, performs regularly at the Van Dyke Café on South Beach and The Westin Grand Bohemian Hotel in Orlando, as well as numerous music festivals. She has been a featured soloist with the Memphis Symphony, the South Florida Pops, the Florida West Coast Symphony, and the All-American College Orchestra at Epcot Center.
