The Orlando Philharmonic Presents A Romantic Broadway Journey

Orlando, FL – February 16, 2006 - The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra performs a concert for lovers of Broadway and romance alike titled A Romantic Broadway Journey.  The concert takes place on Saturday, March 4.  A matinee performance is held at 2:00 PM and an evening performance is held at 8:00 PM at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre, 401 W. Livingston Street, Orlando.

Maestro Andrew Lane leads the Philharmonic in this program featuring a collection of Broadway’s most magical and romantic love songs.  You’ll feel the romance in the air as the Philharmonic performs great music presently being performed on Broadway interwoven with many golden moments from Broadway’s past. Enjoy such favorites as “Tonight” from West Side Story, “Night Music Waltz” from A Little Night Music, “Love Changes Everything” from Aspects of Love, “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady, “People Say We’re In Love” from Oklahoma, “You’re the Top” from Anything Goes and “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha, just to name a few!

Broadway talents Rebecca Luker and George Dvorsky enhance the music with beautiful vocal performances.  Rebecca Luker was most recently seen on Broadway in NINE.  She starred as Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Maria in The Sound of Music, Magnolia in Showboat, and Christine in The Phantom of the Opera.  She has also been seen on TV in Matlock, An Evening at the Pops and A Tribute to Rodgers & Hammerstein

George Dvorsky starred in the title role of The Scarlet Pimpernel and played Henry Spofford in the revival of Gentleman Prefer Blondes.  His show-stopping rendition of Oklahoma in the Give My Regards to Broadway gala at Carnegie Hall led to his starring in the New York City premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella as Prince Charming at Lincoln Center.

Broadway fans will be sure to enjoy this program of romantic hits.  There are so many great tunes throughout the evening that you’ll be humming for days!

Tickets to this program are $12 - $55 (Students with valid ID can purchase half price tickets in select areas.). To purchase tickets, phone the Orlando Philharmonic at 407-770-0071, or visit www.orlandophil.org. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster at 407-839-3900.

We hope you will join us for this romantic journey down the Great White Way!
