The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Performs with Internationally-renowned Tenor, Mario Frangoulis

(Orlando, FL – December 27, 2005) – (Orlando, FL – December 27, 2005) – The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra performs with international singing sensation Mario Frangoulis in a special concert, titled Sometimes I Dream, as part of the 2006 Patriarchal Epiphany Centennial Celebration. The concert takes place on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 7:00 PM at the University of South Florida Sun Dome, 4202 East Fowler Avenue, Tampa.

Performed in honor of His All Holiness BARTHOLOMEW, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, the concert features Frangoulis with the Orlando Philharmonic under the direction of Principal Pops and Resident Conductor Andrew Lane, soprano Debra Myers, more than 250 Greek dancers from across the United States and Canada, and the Archdiocesan Metropolitan Youth Choir of New York.

Often compared to Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli, Mario Frangoulis topped the charts in Greece for four years prior to the 2002 release of his international breakthrough album, “Sometimes I Dream.” His latest album, “Follow Your Heart,” is a striking new collection of songs that reflect his personality and burnish the sound of his remarkable voice. For more information on Mario Frangoulis, visit www.mariofrangoulis.com.

Music on the program includes Frangoulis’ beloved hit Sometimes I Dream in addition to Here’s to the Heroes, Granada, Vincero Perdero, Buon Giorno Principessa, Dromi Palioi, the Moody Blues’ popular hit Nights in White Satin, and Broadway favorites including Music of the Night and the Theme from “Phantom of the Opera;” and Somewhere and Tonight from “West Side Story.”

All proceeds from the evening’s events will benefit the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Parochial School of Tarpon Springs.
