Marsalis and The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will
host a benefit concert on Wednesday, November 9 at
7 p.m. at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center, 401
W. Livingston Street, Orlando. Marsalis, along
with The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and renowned
singer, Curtis Rayam, will perform at the event. All
proceeds from the concert will benefit Habitat for
Humanity and the Hurricane Katrina Musicians Relief
Fund. Thanks
to our title sponsor, Baldwin Harbor, “elegance
above the lake, Baldwin Park at your feet,” we
are $25,000 closer to our $100,000 goal.
“There has been a lot of progress made in the
hurricane recovery efforts in New Orleans, but we want
to keep the momentum going, as there is still a lot
of work that needs to be done,” said Marsalis. “We
need to bring back the music to New Orleans as it plays
such an important role in the city’s culture.”
Marsalis is the co-chair of Habitat for Humanity in
New Orleans along with singer/actor Harry Connick Jr. Orange
County Mayor Richard Crotty, who serves as the chair
for Habitat for Humanity locally, is serving as honorary
co-chair of The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra steering
committee along with city of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. The
city of Orlando is providing the Bob Carr Performing
Arts Center and all of the performers are donating
their services for this concert.

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestrais
