(Orlando, FL – October 6, 2005) – The
Friends of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, volunteer
corps of the Orlando Philharmonic, celebrate their
10th anniversary with the 2005 – 2006 season. As
part of their anniversary celebration, the Friends
announce a series of special fundraising events to
be held throughout the season. Proceeds benefit
the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
This season-long celebration features a variety of
events to complement the many wonderful musical offerings
by the Philharmonic. From a grand opening dinner to
an evening of blue jeans and jewels, the Friends’ special
events offer patrons many opportunities to join in
the celebration. Each of the events is highlighted
with music performed by the musicians of the Philharmonic.
Included in the event schedule are two “Informances,” informal
conversations presented by Music Director Hal France. These
informative evenings have become increasingly popular,
as Maestro France’s musical knowledge and lighthearted
demeanor have made him a sought-after speaker.

Wilkins, who also conducts the third concert in the
orchestra’s Phil at Carr Series on November
5, titled Classical Splendor. Also featured
is a performance by guest artist Horacio Gutiérrez
on piano and Philharmonic Concertmaster Tamas Kocsis
on violin. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
