(Orlando, FL – May 18, 2005) – The
Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra presents the first program
in the 2005 Sounds of Summer Series, titled Tamas
and Friends, on Thursday, June 23, 7:00
PM at Harry P. Leu Gardens, 1920 N. Forest Avenue,
Orlando. The concert is held in the air-conditioned
comfort of the Garden House.
The
program features Tamas Kocsis, Concertmaster of the
Philharmonic, and his musical friends from the orchestra
in a program of some of his favorite chamber music. Selections
on the program are Musique
de Cour for Flute, Violin and Piano by Jean Francaix, Trio
for Violin, Violoncello and Piano by Frank Martin
and Piano Quintet Op. 81 by Antonin Dvo?ák.
Performing on the program are Tamas Kocsis and Joni
Hanze-Bjella on violin, Douglas Pritchard on viola, Barbara
George on violoncello, Colleen Kocsis on flute and
Debra Ayers on piano.
Subscriptions to the Philharmonic’s five-concert
Sounds of Summer Series are presently on sale. Subscriptions
are $125 for adults and $62.50 for students with valid
ID. Single tickets are $30 for adults and $15
for students with valid ID. To purchase tickets,
phone the Philharmonic at 407-770-0071. Tickets
are also available at the door on the evening of the
performance, subject to availability. Each year,
the concerts in this popular series often sell out,
so be sure to get your tickets early.
