2005 – 2006
Darden
Family
Series. Sponsored
by
Darden
Restaurants
Foundation,
the
programs
in
the
Darden
Family
Series
are
designed
to
de-mystify
the
classical
music
experience
for
children
and
their
families. The
family-friendly
concerts
in
this
series
are
as
educational
as
they
are
entertaining. In
addition
to
a
fabulous
concert
presented
by
the
Orlando
Philharmonic,
participants
enjoy
a
variety
of
pre-concert
activities,
including
the
wildly-popular
conducting
station,
instrument
petting
zoos,
ensemble
performances,
and
a
variety
of
activities
that
complement
the
theme
of
the
concerts. Many
of
these
activities
involve
collaboration
with
organizations
throughout
the
Central
Florida
community.
The
generous
sponsorship
by
the
Darden
Restaurants
Foundation
has
enabled
the
Philharmonic
to
offer
this
three-concert
subscription
series
at
the
family-friendly
price
of
$21
for
children
and
$36
for
adults. Subscriptions
are
presently
on
sale. Be
sure
to
order
your
subscription
early,
as
these
concerts
sell
out
quickly,
and
the
auditorium
is
filled
from
front
to
back
as
orders
are
received.

$15
for

adventure

a baby
grand
piano
on
its
travels
from
the
protection
of
its
concert
mother
grand
piano
in
a store
window,
to
its
new
home
on
the
concert
stage.
There,
the
baby
grand
piano
becomes
part
of
a new
orchestral
family.
This
delightfully
imaginative
tale
introduces
young
listeners
to
the
sounds
of
the
instruments
of
the
orchestra,
as
the
baby
grand
befriends
the
individual
instruments.
