Orlando, FL – February 15, 2005–
The popularity and success of last year’s outdoor Springs concert
has promptedthe Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra to continue this
tradition with the 2005 Springs concert, titled Star-Spangled Springs. The
concert is slated for Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Springs Community,
400 Woodbridge Road, Longwood. Gates open at 5:00 PM. The concert begins at 8:00
PM. The Philharmonic is pleased to continue this annual concert tradition,
which, in the 1980’s, was considered the most popular concert of the year
and a social event not to miss.
Star-Spangled
Springs features Maestro Andrew Lane
and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance
of popular selections along with some of America’s
most beloved patriotic songs. Set on a floating
stage, the full 55-piece orchestra performs this
2-hour concert with one intermission. The
orchestra is sponsored by The CED Construction
Companies.
Patrons are invited to bring blankets and picnics
and enjoy a fabulous evening of music with friends
and family. Alcoholic beverages are permitted for patrons
21 and older. Lawn seating is on a first come
first served basis.
Tickets
to Star-Spangled Springs are
presently on sale. Advance tickets are $25 and
can be purchased at the Orlando Philharmonic’s
Box Office, 812 E. Rollins Street, Suite 300, Orlando
(in the Lowndes Shakespeare Center) (by phone, 407-896-6700);
at the Springs Business Office at 400 Woodbridge Road,
Longwood (by phone, 407-862-3881); at Petty’s
Meats and Specialty Foods, 2141 W. SR 434, Longwood;
or on the Philharmonic’s web site at www.orlandophil.org. Tickets
can be purchased at the door beginning at 5:00 PM the
day of the performance. Tickets purchased at
the door are $30.
The
Friends of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra sponsor
a VIP Clubhouse, complete with complimentary
food and beverages provided by Meiner’s catering
and John and Joyce McLeod. A dinner buffet will
be served from 6:00 to 8:00 PM inside the hospitality
suite, with dinner seating available at tables under
the trees. VIP concert seating is located on the lawn
in front of the Spring. Chairs are provided for
VIP patrons. VIP patrons also receive preferred
parking. VIP tickets are $85, and can be purchased
at the same locations as general admission tickets.
Corporate and patron tables are available in the VIP
area in prices ranging from $1000 to $5000. Phone

The Springs is a 400-acre Planned Unit Development
located in Southern Seminole County near Longwood,
and is widely considered one of the most beautiful
and safe communities in that county. The Springs,
around which The Springs Community is built, is known
as Sanlando Springs. The entire area has been
dedicated as a wildlife sanctuary, with more than 100
acres of the community preserved in its natural state.
