The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Announces the 2005 Springs Concert:
STAR-SPANGLED SPRINGS

Orlando, FL – February 15, 2005– The popularity and success of last year’s outdoor Springs concert has promptedthe Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra to continue this tradition with the 2005 Springs concert, titled Star-Spangled Springs.  The concert is slated for  Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Springs Community, 400 Woodbridge Road, Longwood. Gates open at 5:00 PM. The concert begins at 8:00 PM.  The Philharmonic is pleased to continue this annual concert tradition, which, in the 1980’s, was considered the most popular concert of the year and a social event not to miss.

Star-Spangled Springs features Maestro Andrew Lane and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in a performance of popular selections along with some of America’s most beloved patriotic songs.  Set on a floating stage, the full 55-piece orchestra performs this 2-hour concert with one intermission.  The orchestra is sponsored by The CED Construction Companies.

Patrons are invited to bring blankets and picnics and enjoy a fabulous evening of music with friends and family. Alcoholic beverages are permitted for patrons 21 and older.  Lawn seating is on a first come first served basis.

Tickets to Star-Spangled Springs are presently on sale.  Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the Orlando Philharmonic’s Box Office, 812 E. Rollins Street, Suite 300, Orlando (in the Lowndes Shakespeare Center) (by phone, 407-896-6700); at the Springs Business Office at 400 Woodbridge Road, Longwood (by phone, 407-862-3881); at Petty’s Meats and Specialty Foods, 2141 W. SR 434, Longwood; or on the Philharmonic’s web site at www.orlandophil.org.  Tickets can be purchased at the door beginning at 5:00 PM the day of the performance.  Tickets purchased at the door are $30.

The Friends of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra sponsor a VIP Clubhouse, complete with complimentary food and beverages provided by Meiner’s catering and John and Joyce McLeod.  A dinner buffet will be served from 6:00 to 8:00 PM inside the hospitality suite, with dinner seating available at tables under the trees. VIP concert seating is located on the lawn in front of the Spring.  Chairs are provided for VIP patrons.  VIP patrons also receive preferred parking. VIP tickets are $85, and can be purchased at the same locations as general admission tickets.

Corporate and patron tables are available in the VIP area in prices ranging from $1000 to $5000.  Phone Heather Rybka, event coordinator, at 407-896-6700 x 224 for details.

The Springs is a 400-acre Planned Unit Development located in Southern Seminole County near Longwood, and is widely considered one of the most beautiful and safe communities in that county.  The Springs, around which The Springs Community is built, is known as Sanlando Springs. The entire area has been dedicated as a wildlife sanctuary, with more than 100 acres of the community preserved in its natural state. The Springs is a gated private community.
