Orlando, FL – July 2, 2004 –
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra presents the fourth
concert in the 2004 Sounds of Summer Series, Going for
Baroque, on Thursday, August 5, at 7:00 PM. The concert
takes place at Harry P. Leu Gardens, 1920 N. Forest
Avenue, Orlando, in the air-conditioned comfort of the
Garden House.
This chamber performance of Classical and Baroque favorites
features Philharmonic musicians Joni Hanze-Bjella on
violin and Daniel Flick on mandolin.
Joni Hanze-Bjella, who serves as Concertmaster for
the Orlando Philharmonic, has also played with the Cincinnati
Symphony, Florida Symphony, Brevard Symphony, Annapolis
Symphony and Lexington Philharmonic and has held title
positions with the South West Florida Symphony Orchestra,
Tampa Bay Ballet Orchestra, and Drake Symphony Orchestra.
Daniel Flick has performed in numerous orchestras throughout
Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Oregon. He was the
violinist in Fascinating Rhythm, Denver’s premier
Jazz String Quartet, performed as a multi-instrumentalist
for the Denver Center Theater Company and served as
musician/composer for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival,
where he was featured in numerous productions.
On the program is Handel’s Overture to Orlando,
Vivaldi’s Concerto for Mandolin in C Major, RV
425, and Summer in G Minor, RV 315 from “The Four
Seasons” and Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 in
F-Sharp Minor (Farewell Symphony).
Tickets to Going For Baroque are $25. Students with
valid ID can purchase half price tickets. To purchase

are also available at the door on the evening of the
performance, subject to availability. Each year, the
concerts in this popular series often sell out, so be
sure to get your tickets early.
