Orlando, FL – February
24, 2004 – The Orlando Philharmonic proudly
presents the 2004-2005 Season of its award-winning Darden
Family Series. Sponsored by Darden Restaurants Foundation,
the Darden Family Series has been designed to de-mystify
the world of classical music for children of all ages.
The family-friendly concerts in this series are as educational
as they are entertaining. In addition to a fabulous
concert presented by the Orlando Philharmonic, participants
enjoy a variety of pre-concert activities, including
the wildly-popular conducting station, instrument petting
zoos, ensemble performances, and a myriad of activities
that complement the theme of the concerts.
A generous sponsorship by the Darden Restaurants Foundation
has enabled the Philharmonic to offer this three-concert
subscription series at the family-friendly price of
$15 for children and $36 for adults. Subscriptions are
presently on sale. Be sure to order your subscription
early, as these concerts sell out quickly, and the auditorium
is filled from front to back as orders are received.
(Season subscribers are seated first.) Single tickets
are $8 for students and $15 for adults, and go on sale
August 23. Media Sponsors for the series are: Orlando
Sentinel Communications and WFTV 9 Family Connection.
Subscriptions can be purchased by phoning the Orlando
Philharmonic Box Office at 407/896-6700, or on the Philharmonic’s
website at www.orlandophil.org. You can also mail your
order with checks payable to the Orlando Philharmonic
Orchestra 812 E. Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32803.
All Darden Family Series concerts are held on Sundays
at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre, 401 W. Livingston
