Rudolfinum at the time of 2007 Prague Spring International Music

Founded in 1946, the Prague Spring has become one of the most internationally recognized music festivals attracting both top musicians and symphony orchestras and music lovers from all over the world. Opening traditionally with the renowned Ma Vlast – My Country, the cycle of six symphonic poems including the popular Vltava – The Moldau, by Bedrich Smetana; the Festival begins on May 12 to commemorate the Czech composer’s death, and goes on presenting grand music throughout the City for over three weeks. So regardless of what travel dates you select, you will enjoy six superb music performances—including the celebrated Prague Spring opening program in case of OPUS I and the memorable Prague Spring closing concert in case of OPUS II—all presented at Prague’s major music venues: the beautifully decorated, architecturally stunning Smetana and Dvorak Halls and National and Estates Theatres.
