| Principal Clarinet
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Jeanne Heinze joined
the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra in 1997 as second
clarinetist and in 2000 was appointed principal clarinetist.
She has made frequent solo and chamber music appearances
on the critically acclaimed Sounds of Summer and Serenade
Series and in the 2002-2003 season she will appear as
soloist in the Mozart Clarinet Concerto on the highly
anticipated Focus Series. As a chamber music enthusiast,
Ms. Heinze has also appeared in recital with members
of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of
St. Luke’s in New York City.
Ms. Heinze began her musical studies at the age of
9 in the Boston area and later continued her early training
in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1993 she earned a Bachelors
of Music Education from Louisiana State University where
she was a student of Steve Cohen, principal clarinetist
of The Louisiana Philharmonic. After completing her
degree at LSU, Ms. Heinze was selected to participate
in the Orchestral Training Program at the Manhattan
School of Music. While in New York she was a student
of Ricardo Morales, principal clarinetist of the Metropolitan
Opera Orchestra and earned her Masters of Music in 1996.
Ms. Heinze other training includes studies with Laura
Ardan, principal clarinetist of the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra and masterclass appearances with the principal
clarinetists of the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland
Orchestra, National Symphony, and the Chicago Symphony.
Before her appointment with the Orlando Philharmonic
Orchestra, Ms. Heinze spent a year freelancing in Atlanta
where she appeared in solo and chamber recitals as well
as with the Atlanta Ballet and other regional orchestras.
She has also performed with the Jacksonville Symphony
Orchestra, the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, the Brevard
Symphony and the Florida West Coast Symphony in Sarasota.
Ms. Heinze maintains an active and selective teaching
studio and resides in the Orlando area with her husband,
Brett.
