Harpist Rosalind Beck graduated magna cum laude with bachelor of music and music education degrees from the Philadelphia Musical Academy. Ms. Beck studied with principal harpists of the Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Boston Symphony Orchestras. She was principal harpist of the Florida Symphony Orchestra from 1970 to 1993, appearing as soloist with the FSO on several occasions. Ms. Beck is currently principal harpist with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. She was a featured artist on the Philharmonic’s Sounds of Summer chamber music series; the Serenade chamber series in winter 2002 and 2003; at Embry-Riddle University in January 2003; and on the Mad Cow Theatre Cabaret Festival in spring 2003. Ms. Beck performed as one of the soloists in the Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp on the Philharmonic’s January 2006 Focus chamber orchestra concerts. Her accompaniment of the Orlando Deanery Boys’ Choir can be heard on the compact disc Prayer for Peace. Ms. Beck is an adjunct harp instructor at the University of Central Florida, teaches selected private students, and is also an active free-lance musician in the greater Central Florida area.
